5 Scouts ventured off on Sunday on a Rangitoto expedition. A sail over to Rangitoto - not quite with no wind , more of a tow. Walk to the top for lunch, refreshing swim in the bay before returning to Takapuna. The return trip was more fun with wind in our favour. Trip planned by 3 Youth.
Our scouts enjoyed a fantastic lightweight camping trip in the Karamatura Valley, Waitakere Ranges, last weekend. It had been four years since our last visit, and the valley's beauty, particularly its stunning river setting, didn't disappoint. The scouts embraced the simple joys of camp life, exploring the area, taking scenic walks, playing traditional games, and visiting the local caves. A highlight was the challenging hike up the 1200 stairs to the top of Mt. Don McLean. With the warm weather, swimming in the river was a constant delight 🏕🏖🥾🏊♀️⚜
