When you join Cubs, you step into a world of teamwork, curiosity, and practical discovery! Cubs become members of a small team called a ‘Six’, where they work together to explore new places, make great friends, experiment with hands-on challenges, and build independent life skills.
⏱️ Age Section & Transition: The Cubs programme is designed for youth in School Years 3 to 6. A Cub cleanly transitions up to the Scout Section at the start of the 4th school term of their Year 6 school year.

The Cub Award Scheme
Operating through the national Mahi Tah* portal system, our award architecture encourages Cubs to take track their progression. Cubs participate in dynamic pack nights to tick off shared requirements, but they also track unique Participate, Assist, and Lead tasks to achieve their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards.
As Sea Scouts, our Cubs also get early practical exposure to core national Adventure Skills badge streams—opening up pathways in Camping, Bushcraft, Emergency, and fundamental water activities like kayaking and swmiing
⛺ Camps & Weekend Events: Alongside our routine weeknight sessions, there are fantastic optional weekend activities your Cub can attend. Many local events are free, while specific adventures like multi-day camps have just minimal charge to cover costs, no profits is made from these so they are very affordable.

We run free introductory trial sessions so your child can meet the Six, play some games, and experience our fun filled nights firsthand.
