The Tauhinu Sea Scout group commenced activities in August 1955 and is part of the Mahurangi Scout Zone in the Upper North Island Region. The group runs four sections:
Our Sections
Our Scout Law
Have Respect (He Whai Whakaaro)
Respect yourself, others, and the environment.
Do What is Right (Kia Tika)
Be trustworthy, tolerant, and have integrity in everything you do.
Be Positive (Kia Ngākau Pai)
Accept challenges with courage and be a friend to all.
Our Programmes & Activities
We run a dynamic array of outdoor activities built around the SCOUTS New Zealand national development framework. While our younger Keas embark on a gentle programme of sharing and active discovery, our Cubs step things up by participating in outdoor adventures, multi-day pack camps, and local community events.
For our older Scouts and Venturers, the programme pivots heavily toward water, rowing, and sailing activities. These senior sections are continuously challenged by structural frameworks built around personal achievement, practical leadership, and community service.
Our Commitment to Greenhithe
“Tauhinu Sea Scouts maintains an enduring, long-term commitment to the youth of the Greenhithe community. By guiding, mentoring, and teaching practical scouting and boating skills, we actively equip our young people to become resilient, reliable, and valuable members of our wider community.”
